The Fig Tree Restaurant has always enjoyed growing and harvesting fresh ingredients from our own garden. The garden was first planted at Fig Tree Restaurant back in 1981.
In 2005, Che expanded the garden and moved it to its’ current location in front of Sunrise House, located adjacent to Fig Tree Restaurant. The Fig Tree Restaurant garden provides an endless source of inspiration for Che and his chefs, from which to draw upon to create the restaurant’s seasonally focused menus, showcasing local produce along with an abundance of fresh ingredients harvested daily straight from the Fig Tree Restaurant gardens. An olive grove, lemon and cumquat orchard have also been established over recent years to expand on what our menus offer.
Homegrown, extraordinary and thoughtful. Words to best describe the dishes we serve. Ingrained in Fig Tree’s history, we invite you to experience Byron Bay’s most authentic paddock to plate ethos that is matched with next level flavour and inspiration from a plethora of cuisines. All ingredients are hand-picked from Fig Tree’s thriving veggie, herb, edible flower and citrus garden – attended to day in, day out. Everything else? What can not be grown is sourced locally from neighbouring farms, fishermen and producers.
